I am, first and foremost, a board certified litigator. Of the over 100,000 attorneys licensed to practice law in Texas only 7,400 have earned the right to be publicly recognized as Board Certified specialists in one of 23 select areas as of 2017. See http://www.tbls.org/Default.aspx. This is an honor that can only be obtained by proving one's self as a trial lawyer in front of judges, juries and opposing counsel. I handle litigation and counsel my clients in matters involving contracts, trade secrets, non-compete agreements, non-solicitation agreements, real estate, personal injury, construction, product liability, premises liability, oil and gas, energy, insurance coverage, and intellectual property.
I also serve as outside general counsel to several businesses where I assist in that particular company's everyday legal needs. This includes negotiating contracts, drafting and reviewing agreements, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, handling litigation and resolving employment controversies.
I started my own firm in 2018 because I saw the need in the legal marketplace for a younger lawyer who could draw upon real jury trial experience to represent his clients. Rather than emphasizing billable hours, as many firms require, I wanted to focus exclusively on applying common sense and creativity to aggressively represent and counsel my clients. Also, understanding that lawsuits can be expensive, I desired to have the flexibility to offer fee arrangements that allowed clients the opportunity for high quality legal representation at reasonable rates.
On a personal level, I am married with three kids. When I am not spending time with my family, my number one priority, I enjoy running, playing basketball and football, reading, and being active outdoors. I also love watching sports, specifically football (college and professional), basketball, and the Astros. My family and I dedicate a substantial amount of our time to serving in our neighborhood church. I teach a Sunday School class for married couples and have volunteered with numerous organizations whose aim is to serve the community and provide comfort and care for those in need.
